Samsung hosted its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event last night, unveiling the much-awaited Galaxy S25 series. This impressive lineup includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra. But the excitement didn’t stop there—Samsung surprised fans with a teaser for a new model, the Galaxy S25 Edge, which was previously rumored to be called the Galaxy S25 Slim.
Introducing the Galaxy S25 Edge
The Galaxy S25 Edge was briefly showcased on stage and on the show floor, giving attendees a sneak peek at its sleek and ultra-thin design. This model features flat edges, a flat display, and dual rear cameras, setting it apart from its siblings in the S25 lineup. However, Samsung chose to keep specific details about its specifications, pricing, and availability under wraps during the event.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge for Select Markets
A representative from Samsung South Africa recently clarified the availability of the Galaxy S25 Edge. According to their statement to Android Authority, this Slim model will not initially be available in South Africa. Instead, it is set to launch in select markets, including the US and South Korea.
“So, we will have the Ultra, the Plus, the base model. That’ll be South Africa. There is a Slim model, not initially available here. It’ll be available in select markets,” the representative noted.
While the complete list of regions for the Galaxy S25 Edge rollout is still being finalized, the representative hinted at a phased launch. This means that other markets may receive the device in a subsequent wave, offering hope to fans outside the initial launch regions.
