Exciting Updates to Google Lens: Visual Search Made Easier!
Great news for tech enthusiasts! Google has rolled out two fantastic updates to Google Lens, making visual searches across devices and apps a breeze. The company promises that it’s now “even easier to search what you see.”
Lens Integration on iPhone
If you’re an iPhone user, you’ll love the new Lens feature integrated into Chrome and the Google app. You can now search for items directly on your screen by simply drawing, highlighting, or tapping. Whether you’re browsing articles, shopping for the best deals on looffers.com, or watching a video, you can initiate a visual search without the hassle of taking a screenshot or switching tabs!
Access this feature in Chrome by tapping the three-dot menu and selecting “Search Screen with Google Lens.” Soon, a Lens icon will also appear in the address bar, similar to the desktop version. In the Google app, simply tap the three-dot menu, choose “Search this Screen,” and let the searching begin!
Lens with AI Overviews
Google has enhanced Lens with advanced AI models capable of analyzing unique or novel images, going far beyond its existing database of billions of objects like plants and landmarks. Now, Lens provides detailed information, often including AI Overviews without needing a specific query. For example, snap a picture of a car’s unusual hood texture, and Lens will deliver an AI Overview alongside relevant web links.
Availability
- Lens Integration for iPhone users is rolling out globally this week for Chrome and the Google app on iOS.
- AI Overviews will be available this week for English-speaking users in supported countries, launching first on the Google app for Android and iOS, with Chrome support coming soon.
