SP Leader Arrested for Abusive Remarks Against PM Modi and Amit Shah

BALLIA: In a significant development, a local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader was arrested on Sunday for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The police have also lodged an FIR against 22 individuals, including several other SP members, following the complaint by Sub Inspector Varun Kumar Rakesh from the Bhimpura police station.

Details of the Incident

The FIR was filed on Saturday night against individuals including Fateh Bahadur Yadav, Seema Bharti, Pushpa Devi, and others, alongside ten unidentified persons. The charges are serious, encompassing various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including obstruction of public servants and public nuisance.

According to reports, on December 20, the accused allegedly set fire to effigies of PM Modi and Amit Shah near the Sikariya canal culvert, while also using derogatory language. Furthermore, they obstructed government work by blocking a road, leading to heightened tensions in the area.

Police Action

Madan Lal Patel, the in-charge of Bhimpura police station, confirmed the arrest of the accused SP leader and stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals named in the FIR.

This incident has sparked discussions across social media platforms, raising questions about political decorum and accountability.
