NEW DELHI: Women who have made a significant impact on society have responded with enthusiasm to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to share their life journeys. Selected participants will manage Modi’s social media platforms on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
In a recent post on X, PM Modi expressed, “I’ve been seeing truly inspiring life journeys shared on the NaMo App Open Forum. From these, a few women will be chosen for a social media takeover of my digital accounts on March 8, Women’s Day. I urge more women to share their stories.” This initiative was first announced during the 119th episode of his popular program, “Mann Ki Baat,” which ignited excitement across the country.
With tens of millions of followers on platforms like X (over 100 million), Instagram, and YouTube, PM Modi’s initiative aims to showcase stories of resilience, innovation, and impact from extraordinary women. “The platform may be mine, but it will be about their experiences, their challenges, and their achievements,” he noted, encouraging submissions via the NaMo App’s Open Forum.
In 2020, Modi had previously handed his social media accounts to seven remarkable women, including a social worker and a mountaineer, amplifying their voices to millions. This year’s call, however, is broader, inviting women from all corners of India to share their journeys. By Monday, PM Modi acknowledged that he had already seen many “very inspiring life journeys” on the NaMo application, hinting at the challenging selection process ahead.
