Tragic Accident in Vadodara: One Killed, Several Injured

VADODARA: A tragic incident occurred in Vadodara where a car driven by 23-year-old Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to four others.

Accused’s Statement

Chaurasia claims he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. “We were going ahead of the scooty, turning right when we hit a pothole. The car slightly touched the other vehicle, triggering the airbag and hampering our vision,” he stated.

He insisted he was driving at 50 km/h, emphasizing that he had no intention of causing harm. “I went for Holika Dahan and was not drunk. I want to meet the families of the victims,” he added, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

Investigation Underway

Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar confirmed that multiple teams are investigating the incident. “Three other vehicles were involved, and eight people were injured,” he stated. Evidence is being collected from the scene, and the driver is currently in police custody.

Legal Action

The police have registered a drink and drive case against Chaurasia, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover the complete details of the incident.
