Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath graced the occasion, highlighting the importance of sports in today’s society. “At this event, we are honored to have esteemed sports personalities among us,” he stated, acknowledging the presence of sports legends like PT Usha, Kapil Dev, and Deepa Malik, who have inspired countless young athletes across the country.
The evening’s highlight was the recognition of India’s rising stars. Chess prodigy D Gukesh, who made history as the youngest-ever World Chess Champion, was awarded Sportsperson of the Year (Male). He announced the establishment of 85,000 Youth and Women Welfare Centers equipped with sports kits and the construction of mini stadiums across districts.
