Three Alleged Khalistan Operatives Killed in UP Encounter
PILIBHIT: In a significant operation, three alleged operatives of the Pakistan-sponsored Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Punjab and UP police near the Sharda river on NH-730. The incident occurred around 5:30 AM on Monday.
The deceased, Gurvinder Singh, Varinder Singh alias Ravi, and Jasanpreet Singh, are believed to have been involved in multiple grenade attacks in Punjab over the past month. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed that these ISI-directed operatives were attempting to destabilize the region, with Varinder being a key figure due to his connections with top operatives abroad.
Intelligence-Led Operation
Acting on intelligence provided by the Punjab police, UP police launched an operation to intercept the suspects. The operation revealed a large cache of arms, including two modified AK-47 rifles and two Glock pistols, indicating plans for larger operations.
SP (Pilibhit) Avinash Pandey stated, “The suspects opened fire on our team, prompting a retaliatory response.” All three suspects were declared ‘brought dead’ at the hospital. Fortunately, two police constables injured in the exchange are reported to be stable and recovering.
Connections to International Operatives
The suspects were reportedly part of a module led by Ranjit Singh Neeta, based in Pakistan, and operated under the directives of operatives located in Greece and the UK. Preliminary investigations suggest they had local contacts assisting in their movements.
As the investigation continues, authorities aim to dismantle the broader network supporting these operatives.
