KOPPAL: The recent gang-rape incident involving two women, including an Israeli tourist, has sent shockwaves across India, leading to the arrest of the third suspect from Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The victims, a 27-year-old Israeli woman and her homestay host, were targeted by three intruders. In a tragic turn of events, a male companion from Odisha was brutally beaten and fatally pushed into the Tungabhadra canal. Fortunately, two other companions managed to swim to safety.

All three now face serious charges of sexual assault and murder.
Following the incident, the survivors were admitted to the local Gangavathi Sub-Division Hospital and have since been discharged. The attackers not only inflicted physical harm but also robbed the victims, stealing two cellphones and Rs 9,500 in cash before fleeing the scene.
