T Natarajan: Rising to the Challenge in IPL 2025
As the IPL 2025 season approaches, Delhi Capitals’ left-arm medium-pacer T Natarajan faces a unique set of challenges. Having limited recent playtime due to a shoulder injury, he is determined to make a strong comeback with the Capitals. His last competitive appearance was in the Tamil Nadu Premier League in July-August, and now he must shake off the rust and regain his competitive edge.
Transitioning to Delhi Capitals
After seven successful seasons with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Natarajan finds himself in a new environment. The transition comes with its own set of pressures, particularly as he carries a hefty price tag of Rs 10.75 crore from the mega auction. This financial investment places added expectations on his shoulders, but Natarajan remains optimistic.
“I have been part of the IPL for the last eight years, so I am able to manage situations better,” he shares. His experience gives him confidence, which he believes is crucial for his performance. “Irrespective of what happens, I will never lose my confidence. Even when things do not go my way, I believe that I will be able to make a comeback,” he adds.
Support System and Mentorship
Natarajan is currently in the pre-season camp, where he receives encouragement from the support staff. “The coaches motivate me during tough times, and that helps me recover faster,” he states. His commitment to improvement is evident as he prepares to regain his form with the guidance of head coach Hemang Badani. “He knows how to extract the best from his players,” Natarajan notes.
Moreover, Natarajan is keen to learn from his teammate, Mitchell Starc, hoping to pick up new tricks to enhance his game. “Every bowler will have something new up his sleeve, so I am looking forward to learning from Starc,” he reveals.
