Smriti Mandhana Rises in ICC Rankings After Stellar Performances

Indian cricket sensation Smriti Mandhana has made headlines by climbing to second place in both T20I and ODI batting rankings following her impressive performances against the West Indies. With her current ratings, she now trails only South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and Australia’s Beth Mooney.

Outstanding Performances Fuel Ranking Surge

The latest ICC rankings update reveals that Mandhana holds an ODI rating of 739, just behind Wolvaardt, who has a rating of 773. In T20Is, Mandhana’s rating stands at 753, narrowly missing out on Mooney’s 757. Her remarkable scores of 62 off 41 balls and 77 off 47 balls in two recent T20Is against the West Indies have cemented her position, marking her third consecutive half-century against Hayley Matthews’ team. Additionally, she scored 91 runs off 102 balls in the first ODI in Vadodara, extending her streak of 50-plus scores to five consecutive innings.

Advancements Across the Board

Other players also saw notable progress in the rankings. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews jumped to joint-third in the T20I rankings, while Indian bowlers Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil made strides in the T20I bowling rankings. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur moved up to joint-tenth place in ODIs, sharing the spot with England’s Tammy Beaumont.

Career-Best Rankings for Australian Stars

Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland achieved career-best rankings in all categories following her Player of the Match performances, and Renuka Singh Thakur made her way into the top 20 of the ODI bowling rankings for the first time.
