Political Row Erupts Over Mahila Samman Yojana in Delhi
A public notice from the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development department has ignited a political controversy, with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of manipulating officials to deny the existence of the “Mahila Samman Yojana.” This scheme, initiated by AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, aims to provide financial assistance to women.
Singh labeled the BJP as the “Bharatiya Jhootha Party” (Indian Liar Party), asserting that action would be taken against officials involved in releasing the notice. He emphasized that the Mahila Samman Yojana, along with free healthcare for senior citizens, would be implemented after the 2025 Delhi elections. Singh contrasted this commitment with the BJP’s unfulfilled promises regarding black money and job creation, stating, “BJP has gone mad. Their brains have stopped working.”
He further defended the AAP’s track record under Kejriwal, citing successful initiatives like free electricity, water, education, and healthcare. Singh assured the public, “These schemes will also be implemented. It is not only a promise but a guarantee.”
On the other hand, Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of misleading the public and engaging in “digital fraud.” He claimed that the AAP government is responsible for the confusion surrounding the Mahila Samman Yojana and that the party is cheating the people of Delhi.
This ongoing political feud highlights the stark differences in governance and accountability between AAP and BJP, as each party seeks to assert its credibility ahead of the upcoming elections.
