RSS Condemns Violence Against Hindus in Bangladesh and Urges Peace in Manipur

NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has voiced strong condemnation of the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, while calling for peace and unity in Manipur. These critical observations were highlighted in the RSS’s Annual Report 2024-25, specifically in the section titled “Present National Scene,” which sheds light on the ongoing human suffering due to violence.

Condemnation of Violence in Bangladesh

The report stated, “The barbaric attacks on the Hindu community and other minorities by religious fanatics during the political upheaval in Bangladesh are highly condemnable.” It commended the resilience of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, who continue to stand firm despite facing threats to their safety and property.

Efforts for Unity and Relief in Manipur

The RSS acknowledged the hard work of its volunteers and numerous organizations in organizing protests across India against the violence in Bangladesh. Furthermore, it appreciated the Indian government’s diplomatic initiatives urging Bangladesh to protect its minority communities and raise global awareness on this pressing issue.

On the situation in Manipur, the RSS appealed to all communities to set aside grievances and work toward social harmony. The report highlighted that Manipur has faced turmoil for nearly 20 months, with Sangh-affiliated social organizations providing relief and engaging with communities to ease tensions.

Hope for Restoration and Future Steps

The RSS acknowledged the Modi government’s role in addressing the crisis, stating that recent political and administrative decisions have raised hopes for improvement. However, it emphasized that restoring long-term peace and trust in Manipur would take time.

Reflections from Prime Minister Modi

In a recent podcast interview with AI researcher Lex Fridman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reflected on the RSS’s influence in shaping his life, emphasizing its work over the past century in uplifting various communities, including tribals, women, laborers, and youth.

The report was released following the inauguration of the three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Bengaluru.
