Rohit Sharma Questions BCCI’s Disciplinary Guidelines for Players’ Families on Tours

Rohit Sharma Raises Concerns Over BCCI’s New Disciplinary Guidelines

Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has voiced his apprehensions regarding the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) new disciplinary guidelines, particularly the controversial 14-day limit on players’ families during long tours. This issue was highlighted following a recent review meeting addressing the team’s underwhelming performance in Australia.
The guidelines, which have sparked debate among players, were reportedly influenced by head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. While the BCCI has yet to officially announce these regulations, details have surfaced in the media, prompting discussions within the cricketing community.
During a press conference at the Wankhede Stadium, Rohit was overheard expressing his intent to discuss these family-related restrictions with BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia. “I will have to discuss with the BCCI secretary about this (families on tour) issue. Everyone is asking me,” Rohit remarked, indicating the level of concern among players.
When questioned about the guidelines, Rohit responded with skepticism, asking, “Who told you about these rules? Has it come from the official handle of the BCCI?” His comments reflect a need for clarity and transparency regarding the new protocols.
Ajit Agarkar confirmed that the BCCI had indeed drafted a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlining the dos and don’ts for the national team. He emphasized that while some rules have always existed, they are now more formally articulated.
Rohit also affirmed that Gambhir has complete trust in his leadership on the field, fostering a collaborative environment where tactical discussions take place off the field.
As the cricketing world watches closely, it remains to be seen how these guidelines will evolve and impact the team dynamics. For the latest updates on cricket and sports, visit Looffers.com.
