Punjab Police Dismantles Gangster Goldy Dhillon’s Target Killing Module
PATIALA: In a significant operation, the Punjab Police have successfully dismantled a target killing module linked to foreign-based gangster Goldy Dhillon. The operation led to the arrest of two operatives in Rajpura, as confirmed by the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.
Arrests and Seizures
The arrested individuals have been identified as Malkit Singh alias Max from Ajnala, Amritsar, and Sandeep Singh alias Deep from Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib. During the operation, police recovered an impressive arsenal, including five pistols—three .32 calibre, one .30 calibre, and a .315 calibre country-made pistol—alongside 15 cartridges and 1,300 intoxicant tablets. The authorities also impounded their black Honda Activa scooter.
Criminal Background
Preliminary investigations reveal that both operatives were wanted in two criminal cases related to extortion. They were reportedly commissioned by Goldy Dhillon to carry out target killings in Mohali and Rajpura. DGP Gaurav Yadav noted that the suspects have a history of criminal activities, with multiple cases under the NDPS Act, Arms Act, attempt to murder, extortion, dacoity, and snatching registered against them.
Swift Action by Police
The operation was executed after the Special Cell Rajpura received credible information regarding the duo’s plans to deliver intoxicant tablets and subsequently conduct a target killing in Rajpura. Acting quickly, Inspector Harry Boparai and his team apprehended the suspects, thwarting their deadly intentions.
Further Investigations
Authorities have confirmed that two prominent individuals were also targeted by the foreign-based gangster. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover further links and more arrests are anticipated in the coming days. A case has been filed under Section 22 of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Sadar Rajpura Police Station.
