Prasidh Krishna Updates on Jasprit Bumrah’s Condition
In an important development during the fifth Test match against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna provided a crucial update on the condition of star bowler Jasprit Bumrah. After suffering a back spasm, Bumrah left the field after bowling just one over in the post-lunch session. He was escorted off the field by the team doctor and the BCCI integrity manager, Anshuman Upadhyay.
Bumrah’s Health Status
Krishna shared that Bumrah underwent scans and that the medical team is closely monitoring his progress. “Bumrah had a back spasm. He went for scans, and the medical team is monitoring him. We will know more once the medical team gets back to us,” Krishna stated. Fortunately, Bumrah returned to the field after a two-and-a-half-hour absence, easing concerns within the Indian camp as they prepared for Australia’s second innings.
Krishna Shines on the Field
Despite the setback with Bumrah, Krishna shone with the ball, taking three crucial wickets and helping India bowl Australia out for 181 runs. His standout performance included dismissing key players like Steve Smith and Alex Carey. “I think no matter who is leading, as a team, we prepare really well about what we need to do when we go in as a bowling unit,” Krishna remarked, emphasizing the team’s strong preparation regardless of the circumstances.
Looking Ahead
With 32 wickets already taken in the series, Krishna’s contributions are vital for India’s success. He expressed his enthusiasm for being back on the field after a challenging period due to injuries. “It definitely feels great. Hopefully, we keep doing this as I remain on the field for longer,” he added.
