NEW DELHI: In a remarkable display of empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi allowed six extraordinary women to take over his social media accounts on Women’s Day. Among these trailblazers were the ‘Mushroom Lady of Bihar’, a celebrated chess grandmaster, and advocates for universal accessibility.

Highlighting ‘Nari Shakti’

Before passing the digital baton, PM Modi extolled the virtues of ‘Nari Shakti’, stating, “Our government has always worked for empowering women.” The diverse group of women shared their inspiring journeys, achievements, and challenges, reflecting the prowess of India’s women.

A Glimpse into Their Stories

The first to post was Vaishali Rameshbabu, a 2023 chess Grandmaster, who began her journey at just six years old. She encouraged families to support their daughters, affirming, “Trust their abilities and they’ll do wonders.”

Joining her were scientists Elina Mishra from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Shilpi Soni from ISRO, who highlighted their success in overcoming barriers to reach their goals.

Sharing her entrepreneurial spirit, Anita Devi, known as the ‘Mushroom Lady of Bihar’, recounted establishing the Madhopur Farmers Producers Company in 2016. Ajaita Shah, CEO of Frontier Markets, is empowering over 35,000 women entrepreneurs, while Anjlee Agarwal advocates for universal accessibility, ensuring dignity and independence for all.
