PM Modi highlighted the need to accelerate the output of key varieties such as pigeon peas, black gram, and lentils. He stated, “Our resolve towards the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ is very clear. We are building an India where farmers are prosperous and empowered.”
Government Initiatives to Support Farmers
During his address, PM Modi highlighted the initiatives from his third term’s budget, including the PM-Kisan scheme, which has provided ₹3.75 lakh crore in income support to millions of farmers across India over the past six years. He encouraged the private sector to focus on developing high-yielding crop seeds to further boost agricultural productivity.
