This is just in time for their IPL 2025 opener against Rajasthan Royals on March 23. The match is scheduled for 3:30 PM at Hyderabad.
After being sidelined due to injury, Reddy passed his fitness test at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru with an impressive score of 18.1 on the yo-yo test. A source confirmed, “Yes, Nitish Kumar Reddy is now fit again, having recovered from a side strain.” His return will be a significant boost for Sunrisers as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old cricketer had made headlines last year, scoring a hundred against Australia in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar series. Unfortunately, he was ruled out of the final three T20Is against England at home due to the same injury.
Reddy’s performance in IPL 2024 was noteworthy, accumulating 303 runs in 13 matches at an average of 33.66, which included two fifties. He also contributed with the ball, taking three wickets at an average of 51.00. His allround capabilities make him a valuable asset for the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad.
