New Cancer Vaccine for Women to Launch in 5-6 Months, Targeting Key Types

Cancer Vaccine for Women: A Breakthrough in Health Care

In an exciting development for women’s health, Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav announced that a vaccine targeting cancers affecting women is set to be available in just five to six months. This innovative vaccine will be eligible for girls aged nine to 16 years, marking a significant step forward in preventive healthcare.

Focus on Women’s Cancers

During a recent press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jadhav highlighted that the research on this crucial vaccine is nearing completion, with trials currently underway. The vaccine aims to combat prevalent cancers such as breast, oral, and cervical cancers, which have seen an alarming rise in cases across the country.

Government Initiatives for Cancer Prevention

The Union Minister emphasized that the Central government is proactively addressing the increasing number of cancer patients in India. As part of this initiative, women above 30 will undergo routine screenings at hospitals, alongside the establishment of daycare cancer centers for early detection and treatment.

Support for Cancer Treatment

In a bid to make cancer treatment more accessible, the government has also waived customs duty on medicines used in cancer therapies. This move is expected to alleviate the financial burden on patients and their families, ensuring that necessary treatments are within reach.

Ayush Facilities Expansion

In addition to the vaccine announcement, Jadhav discussed the transformation of existing healthcare centers into Ayush facilities. With 12,500 health facilities already in operation, the government is committed to expanding this network, providing citizens with holistic health options.
