In a recent turn of events, teams from the Mumbai and Assam police visited the Versova residence of popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, as part of an investigation into his controversial remarks made on a now-deleted YouTube show. Upon arrival, officials found the flat locked, prompting further inquiries into his whereabouts.
Police Inquiry and Missed Summons
Allahbadia has faced significant backlash for his inappropriate comments regarding parents and sex during comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show, ‘India’s Got Latent‘, which has since been taken down. Following numerous complaints, the Mumbai police summoned him to the Khar police station on Thursday, but he failed to appear. Instead, he requested to have his statement recorded at home, a request that was denied by the authorities.
Assam Case and Expanding Investigation
Simultaneously, the Assam police are pursuing a case in Guwahati, where a local resident has accused Allahbadia of promoting obscenity on a public platform. This case has also implicated other individuals, including Ashish Chanchlani and Jaspreet Singh. The Assam police team has collaborated with the Maharashtra Cyber Department to further the investigation.
Statements Recorded and Future Summons
To date, Mumbai police have recorded statements from seven individuals, including Allahbadia’s manager and participants from the show. They have also summoned Pratham Sagar, the video editor of ‘India’s Got Latent‘, for questioning.
