The health of jailed Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid has worsened as his indefinite hunger strike at Tihar Jail entered its eighth day on Friday. Rashid has been shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in New Delhi for urgent medical attention, as reported by the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP).

AIP spokesperson Inam Un Nabi expressed deep concern over Rashid’s health condition. “The health situation of Er Rashid is deeply alarming. Despite his critical condition, his voice for justice remains unyielding. We urge the authorities to prioritize his medical care and ensure he receives immediate and comprehensive treatment,” he stated.

Concerns Over Incarceration

The spokesperson further emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “The continued incarceration and deteriorating health of Engineer Rashid is a serious concern. Justice must not only be done but be seen to be done.” The AIP reiterated its belief in the judicial system while calling for humane treatment for Rashid and a speedy resolution of his case.
