Manickam Tagore Urges PM Modi to Overcome ‘Congress Phobia’ and Focus on Serving India

Congress Phobia: A Stinging Critique from Manickam Tagore

NEW DELHI: In a recent session in the Rajya Sabha, Congress MP Manickam Tagore took Prime Minister Narendra Modi to task over his relentless criticism of the Congress party. He claimed that Modi suffers from a “Congress phobia” and urged him to redirect his focus towards serving the Indian populace instead.

Tagore highlighted that Modi’s address, meant to discuss the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, veered off course, fixating instead on Congress. “For over a decade now, you remain fixated on Congress. It’s high time you fulfill your promises and serve the people rather than dwell on this Congress phobia,” he stated. He humorously added, “I don’t know the medicine for Congress phobia, but PM Modi must seek it!”

Concerns Over Treatment of Indians Abroad

Adding to the discourse, Tagore expressed his discontent regarding the treatment of Indians deported from the US. He criticized the Indian government for not taking a stronger stance in protecting its citizens. “Indians have been insulted globally, treated like criminals. The way America has handled this is appalling, showcasing its arrogance,” he lamented.

PM Modi’s Response

In response, PM Modi accused Congress of “appeasement politics,” asserting that the BJP-led NDA government aims for “shantushtikaran” (total saturation) rather than “tushtikaran.” He emphasized the government’s commitment to the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively to reach beneficiaries without corruption.
