Wadia highlighted the significant delays in disbursing compensation from the central government victim compensation fund scheme initiated in 2016, which offers payouts ranging from ₹1 to ₹3 lakh for survivors.

In a surprising revelation, Wadia pointed out that male acid attack survivors are often overlooked. Out of nine reported cases involving men, a staggering seven have yet to receive any compensation.
