Major Reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh: 46 IAS Officers Transferred
The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government conducted a significant administrative reshuffle on Thursday, resulting in the transfer of 46 Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers across various departments. Key Changes in Leadership
Sanjay Prasad, formerly Chief Secretary to CM Yogi Adityanath, has now taken charge of the Home Department, according to reports from ANI. Deepak Kumar has been relieved from his role as Additional Chief Secretary of Home, Visa, and Passport, and has been assigned as Principal Secretary of the Basic Education Department.
Additional Appointments and Responsibilities
L Venjateshwarlu will now manage multiple roles, including Principal Secretary of Social Welfare, Sainik Welfare, and Tribal Development, alongside his current responsibilities as Managing Director of UP CIDCO.
BL Meena has been released from the Principal Secretary of Home Guard position but will maintain his role as Principal Secretary of Horticulture, Silk, and Food Processing.
Retired Officers Join TB Eradication Campaign
In a parallel initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government has enlisted retired IAS and IPS officers to support its tuberculosis eradication campaign. This campaign aims to accelerate progress towards a TB-free state, engaging former officials and senior citizens as ‘Nikshay Mitras’ to raise public awareness and bolster eradication efforts.
During a recent meeting, CM Adityanath emphasized the significance of these contributions, highlighting that a strong nation is built on a healthy populace. With a goal set by the World Health Organization for a TB-free world by 2030, India aims to achieve this ambitious target by 2025.
