District education officers and inspectors will be responsible for enforcing this new guideline.
Mixed Reactions to the Directive
Despite the well-intentioned aims of this directive, it has drawn criticism from various quarters. Teacher activist Bhausaheb Chaskar expressed concerns, noting that students are already overwhelmed by numerous events throughout the academic year, which can interfere with their curriculum. He questioned the necessity of dedicating an entire day to such celebrations when schools have previously observed Republic Day with various activities.
