Maharashtra CID Files Chargesheet in High-Profile Murder Case

Sambhajinagar: In a shocking development, the Maharashtra Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed a chargesheet against Valmik Karad, the former chief of Parli council and a close aide of NCP minister Dhananjay Munde. The chargesheet encompasses three serious cases, including the murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, alleged extortion attempts, and assault on staff members of a renewable energy firm.

Murder Conspiracy Unveiled

The CID’s investigation revealed that Deshmukh’s murder on December 9, 2024, was not an isolated incident. Authorities believe it was part of a larger conspiracy orchestrated by Karad, aimed at instilling fear and eliminating anyone obstructing his alleged extortion attempt of Rs 2 crore from the renewable energy sector.

Co-accused and Legal Proceedings

Alongside Karad, the chargesheet filed on February 27 before a MCOCA court also names several accomplices, including Vishnu Chate, Sudarshan Ghule, Pratik Ghule, Sudhir Sangle, Mahesh Kedar, Jairam Chate, and Krishna Andhale. The legal proceedings are expected to uncover further details about this sinister plot.
