Cheetah Cubs Born at Kuno National Park: A New Hope
BHOPAL: The Kuno National Park has welcomed two adorable cheetah cubs, courtesy of Veera, a five-year-old cheetah brought from Tswalu Reserve in South Africa. This marks her first litter, bringing the total cheetah population in the park to 26, including 14 lively cubs.
Exciting Developments in Cheetah Conservation
The birth of these cubs comes just a day before Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to release more cheetahs into the wild from enclosures known as bomas. These new additions will join the South African male coalition of Vayu and Agni, who were released into the wild in December last year.
Celebrating New Beginnings
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav shared the joyful news on X, stating, “With the start of the Basant season, unending joy fills the air of Kuno as we welcome two new cheetah cubs. We celebrate the hope and future they bring.” This announcement highlights the ongoing efforts in wildlife conservation and the success of the cheetah reintroduction program in India.
