Kuldeep Yadav Gears Up for Comeback Ahead of White-Ball Series Against England
Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav is on the path to recovery and is preparing for his much-anticipated return to the national team ahead of the white-ball series against England, starting January 22. After overcoming a chronic left groin issue, Kuldeep is focused and ready, as demonstrated by his recent bowling practice session shared on Instagram.
Road to Recovery
After being sidelined during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour of Australia from November to January, Kuldeep’s journey back to fitness has been commendable. His last appearance for the Indian team was during the first Test against New Zealand in October, where he showcased his skills by taking three wickets. Following the test series, he was referred to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for long-term rehabilitation, ensuring he returns stronger than ever.
Aiming for Milestones
As Kuldeep readies himself for the England series, he has his sights set on a significant milestone: achieving 300 international wickets. Currently, he stands at 297 wickets from 159 international matches, boasting an impressive average of 22.50 and best bowling figures of 6/25. The spinner has already claimed eight five-wicket hauls, showcasing his talent and potential.
Upcoming Challenges
The five-match T20I series against England will kick off in Kolkata on January 22, followed by ODIs beginning February 6. The ICC Champions Trophy, hosted by Pakistan and the UAE, will commence on February 19, with India playing matches under a hybrid model. The highly anticipated match against arch-rivals Pakistan is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
