Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police Seize 3,000 Electric Detonators in Champhai
In a significant crackdown on illegal arms and explosives, the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police successfully apprehended two individuals in the Zokhawtar area of Champhai district. The operation led to the recovery of a staggering 3,000 electric detonators, along with 700 meters of cordtex and various war-like stores.
Joint Operation Based on Intelligence
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of explosives in the Vokte Kai area, the forces launched a thorough operation. The apprehended individuals and the recovered items were promptly handed over to the Mizoram Police for further investigation.
Ongoing Efforts to Curb Militant Activities
This operation is part of the Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to mitigate militant activities in the region. Earlier this year, on February 12, Assam Rifles and the Indian Army apprehended two cadres of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) and four active members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) in two separate operations in Manipur.
These operations underscore the commitment of security forces to maintain peace and security in the northeastern states of India.
