IIM-Calcutta Triumphs at NTPC Electron Quiz 2025
NEW DELHI: In an impressive display of intellect and quick thinking, IIM-Calcutta emerged as the winner of the NTPC Electron Quiz-2025, while also securing the second runner-up position. The esteemed event concluded on February 28, with FMS-Delhi being the first runner-up.
Champion Team and Prizes
The champion team, comprising Piyus Kedia and Amartya Saha, showcased exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, earning a cash prize of ₹50,000. The first runner-up, represented by Ankita Shandilya and Shashank Tyagi, took home ₹30,000, while the second runner-up team, Komal Vasudeva and Araya Arun, received ₹20,000.
Participation and Regional Rounds
This year’s quiz attracted over 700 teams across nine locations, including Ranchi, Patna, Lucknow, Raipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Noida. Following nine regional and three semifinal rounds, six teams qualified for the grand finale held at the NTPC Power Management Institute in Noida.

NTPC’s Director (HR), Anil Kumar Jadli, lauded the participants for their critical thinking and competitive spirit. “The NTPC Electron Quiz has been nurturing young talents and cultivating a platform for knowledge sharing for the last two decades,” he remarked.
