Haryana Government Enhances Gratuity for Employees
The Haryana government has announced a significant increase in the maximum limit of Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity for state government employees. Effective from January 1, 2025, the gratuity will rise by 25%, moving from ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh. This decision aims to provide greater financial security to employees and their families.
Approval from the State Cabinet
This enhancement was approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The state cabinet also agreed to a similar 25% increase in gratuity for judicial officers, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce.
Revised External Development Charges Policy
In addition to the gratuity increase, the cabinet has approved a 10% annual increase in External Development Charges (EDC) rates. This revision comes after eight years of stagnant rates, with a consultant set to determine future base EDC rates to ensure fair pricing.
Aadhaar Authentication for HPSC Exams
The cabinet also mandated Aadhaar authentication for candidates applying for Group A and B posts in the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) exams. This move aims to enhance the integrity of the recruitment process.
