Delhi Assembly Elections: BJP’s 27-Year Drought on the Verge of Ending
NEW DELHI: Recent exit polls indicate that the BJP may have an edge over AAP in the Delhi assembly polls. One of the four polls analyzed suggests that the incumbent party may secure a decisive third consecutive mandate, while another predicts an even clearer victory for the BJP.
The Matrize poll estimates that the BJP could potentially cross the majority mark with 35-40 seats in the 70-member assembly. P-Marq offers a slightly more optimistic range of 39-44 seats, while People’s Pulse projects a stunning 51-60 seats for the BJP, reminiscent of AAP’s sweeping victories in 2015 and 2020.
Conversely, the WeePreside poll indicates that AAP might win 46-52 seats, leaving the BJP with a mere 23 seats at best. All four polls suggest that Congress will struggle, with a tally of no more than one seat, further diminishing its chances for revival in the national capital.
A defeat for AAP, especially amid ongoing legal challenges for its leaders, would be a significant setback. Alternatively, if the BJP fails to capitalize on this opportunity, it may feel the loss keenly in this politically significant territory.
While established pollsters like Axis My India, CVoter, and Today’s Chanakya have yet to release their exit poll results, they are expected to provide findings in the coming days.
