Allegations of Sexual Assault in Agra: Gym Trainer Poses as RAW Agent
A disturbing incident has surfaced from the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh, where a Canadian woman of Indian origin has accused a gym trainer of sexual assault. The trainer, who allegedly masqueraded as an agent of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), is now facing serious legal repercussions.
FIR Registered Against Accused
The Agra Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the gym trainer and his associate for their involvement in the crime. The charges include rape, criminal intimidation, and assault with intent to outrage the victim’s modesty, as per sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, the accused, identified as Sahil Sharma, befriended the victim on the dating platform Tinder. Their meeting took place in March at a hotel in Agra, where Sharma allegedly mixed intoxicants into the victim’s drink, leading to her unconsciousness. Upon waking, she claims Sharma threatened her, stating he was a RAW agent.
Continued Threats and Multiple Assaults
After returning to Canada, the victim reported that Sharma persistently contacted her, reiterating his claims of being affiliated with RAW. In August, he invited her back to India under the pretense of introducing her to his family. Unfortunately, upon her arrival, she alleges that he sexually assaulted her multiple times in both Agra and Delhi.
Current Status of the Investigation
As the investigation unfolds, the police are actively pursuing the absconding accused. Agra DCP Suraj Rai confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend both men involved in this heinous act.
