Delhi Politics Heats Up: BJP Targets Kejriwal Over Luxurious Living
NEW DELHI: The political climate in Delhi is heating up as BJP general secretary Vishnu Mittal launched a fierce attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Mittal accused Kejriwal of prioritizing the construction of a lavish “sheeshmahal” while Prime Minister Narendra Modi focuses on uplifting the poor.
“Arvind Kejriwal is building his ‘sheeshmahal’ while PM Modi is building houses for the poor,” Mittal stated, highlighting what he perceives as Kejriwal’s failure to fulfill promises to the people of Delhi. He also expressed confidence that the citizens are leaning towards a BJP government in the upcoming elections.
BJP’s Strategy for Upcoming Elections
Mittal revealed that the BJP is gearing up for the forthcoming Delhi elections with deliberations in the Election Management Committee (EMC). The meeting is expected to last around four hours, with national president JP Nadda leading discussions on the party’s strategy.
Additionally, the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting is scheduled for January 10, where the BJP plans to unveil its list of candidates by January 11.
AAP Responds to BJP’s Allegations
In response, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar criticized the BJP for spreading “false and baseless” allegations concerning Kejriwal’s residence. She challenged the BJP to open both the CM’s residence and PM Modi’s residence for public viewing, questioning the transparency of the renovations funded by taxpayers.
Kakkar raised concerns over claims of extravagant features in the PM’s residence, demanding accountability for the reported high costs associated with the renovations. “Let the taxpayers see what a 300 crore carpet looks like,” she remarked.
As the political battle intensifies, the eyes of Delhi are set on the upcoming elections, with both parties making their case to the electorate.
