Allu Arjun’s House Attack: Accused Claim Self-Defense During Police Confrontation

Allu Arjun’s House Attack Case: Accused Claim Self-Defense Amid Protests

A Hyderabad court has granted bail to six individuals accused of vandalizing actor Allu Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills. The accused, who are students from Osmania University, were produced before the court on Monday morning following their arrest during a protest.

Lawyer Ramdas, representing the accused, stated that the students were demonstrating peacefully when they were allegedly attacked by the police, forcing them to act in self-defense. He emphasized, “The students of Osmania University were demonstrating peacefully. When the police force attacked them, they acted in their self-defense. The police filed a case against them, and after their appearance before the judge today, six people have been given bail without any conditions and a fine.”

Details of the Incident

According to reports from the Hyderabad Police, the protestors holding placards approached Allu Arjun’s residence on a Sunday evening, where they started sloganeering. One protestor reportedly climbed the compound and began throwing tomatoes, leading to the detainment of six individuals associated with the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC).

The protestors allegedly manhandled security personnel and caused damage to flower pots on the premises. A case against them has been registered under numerous sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) amid ongoing tensions related to the Sandhya Theatre Tragedy.

Increased Security Measures

In light of the incident, police have heightened security at Allu Arjun’s residence. Concerns about law and order have been raised, with BRS party members criticizing the Congress government for failing to maintain public safety. BRS MLA T Harish Rao pointed out the alarming number of crime cases reported in Hyderabad in 2024, labeling the attack on the actor’s home as a clear governance failure.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy condemned the attack on film personalities and instructed the state DGP and city police commissioner to take stringent measures to ensure law and order.
