NEW DELHI: Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, a 23-year-old accused in a tragic car crash in Vadodara, was recently brought to the accident site for a crime scene recreation. The incident, which occurred on March 14, resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to eight others.

Details of the Incident

During the recreation, Chaurasia appeared visibly distressed, limping and clutching his ears as he was escorted by police. Investigators revealed that more than three vehicles were involved in the crash, prompting a thorough examination of the events leading up to the incident.

Denial of Drunk Driving

Chaurasia has denied allegations of drunk driving, stating he attended a Holika Dahan celebration but did not consume alcohol. He claimed he was driving at a speed of 50 km/h when the crash occurred. “I want to meet the victim’s family and take responsibility,” he stated.

Forensic Evidence and Legal Proceedings

Police have collected blood samples from Chaurasia and his co-passenger to investigate possible intoxication. The Vadodara Police Commissioner, Narasimha Komar, confirmed that a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered.
