Noida Police Implement Special Safety Measures for New Year’s Eve
As the countdown to New Year’s Eve begins, the Noida Police are rolling out a comprehensive plan to ensure the safety of partygoers celebrating on December 31. In a collaborative effort with local bar and restaurant owners, the police will offer cab and auto services to safely transport intoxicated individuals home, as reported by India Today.
Extensive Security Measures in Place
Noida DCP Ram Badan Singh stated, “We have implemented extensive security measures, including drone surveillance and special cab and auto services, to ensure a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve.” This initiative aims to assist those who may be too intoxicated to drive, thereby promoting responsible celebration.
Extended Liquor Shop Hours
In addition to safety measures, liquor shops across Noida and Greater Noida will be open for an extra hour, operating from 10 am to 11 pm on December 31. This change is expected to accommodate the increased demand as revelers prepare for celebrations.
Deployment of Police Personnel
To bolster security, nearly 3,000 police personnel and seven companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary will be deployed across Noida and Greater Noida. Enhanced security measures will be in effect at malls, especially in dimly lit areas like parking zones, with a focus on women’s safety. Officers will be stationed at helpdesks in malls, pubs, and restaurants to assist those in need.
Traffic Monitoring and Safety Initiatives
Traffic personnel will monitor key areas using speed guns and zigzag barriers to manage speeding. Breathalyser tests will be conducted at 30 junctions to deter drunk driving. Additionally, designated parking spaces for around 7,000 vehicles will be available at popular venues like GIP Mall and Gardens Galleria.
Emergency Services Readiness
To further ensure public safety during the celebrations, ambulance services and women’s safety help desks will be accessible in busy areas. The police have meticulously divided Noida into three super zones, ten zones, 27 sectors, and 119 sub-sectors for effective monitoring, allowing them to respond swiftly to any incidents.
