Japanese Tourist Leads Puri Beach Cleanup Mission
Akie Doi, a passionate music and yoga teacher from Kanazawa, Japan, has turned her love for Puri into a mission for cleanliness. After falling in love with the coastal beauty of Odisha during her first visit in 2022, Doi has made it her goal to keep Puri beach pristine.
Taking Action for the Environment
Now in Puri for the second time, Doi has dedicated her efforts to picking up garbage along the beach. Her initiative not only aims to clean the beach but also to inspire locals to utilize waste disposal facilities. With a banner featuring Lord Jagannath’s image, she conveys powerful cleanliness messages as she walks along the Puri marine drive.
“I simply love doing it. The administration has engaged sweepers, who are lifting garbage and keeping the beach clean. I am doing my bit to keep our environment clean,” Doi shared with enthusiasm.
Community Engagement and Awareness
Doi’s actions have drawn attention from locals, creating a ripple effect of awareness regarding environmental responsibility. Her infectious enthusiasm encourages others to join her in the mission, fostering a sense of community while addressing the pressing issue of beach pollution.
Join the Movement
As we echo Doi’s commitment to cleanliness, we invite everyone to be part of this movement towards a cleaner planet. Whether you’re in Puri or elsewhere, even small actions can lead to significant change.
