Amritsar: In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police have apprehended three individuals allegedly linked to an explosion that occurred near the Fatehgarh Churian police outpost on February 3. This incident, which left the community in shock, has now led to crucial developments in the investigation.

The Arrests

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar announced on Monday that the suspects—Lovepreet Singh ‘Labha’, Karandeep Singh ‘Karan’, and Buta Singh—hail from Ajnala and Rajasansi, areas near Amritsar. During their interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the attack, revealing that they had used a wrapped material designed to create a loud noise, thereby inciting panic among the public.

Connections and Funding

Further investigation uncovered that one Harpreet Singh ‘Happy Pashian’ was the financier behind the operation, providing automatic weapons to the trio through local contacts. Commissioner Bhullar stated that Buta Singh was in direct communication with Pashian, facilitating the connection between Labha, Karan, and the alleged kingpin.

Seizures Made

Thanks to the information obtained during the interrogation, police recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and various ammunition from the suspects’ locations in Ajnala and Rajasansi.
