Bomb Threats Spark Panic in Delhi-NCR Schools, All Declared Hoaxes

Bomb Threats Cause Panic in Delhi-NCR Schools

NEW DELHI/NOIDA: On Friday morning, a series of bomb threat emails sent to several schools and a college in Delhi sparked widespread panic and led to immediate security responses. Notable institutions affected included St Stephen’s College, a prominent constituent of Delhi University, Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar Phase-1, and Banyan Tree School in Lodhi Colony. Fortunately, all threats were declared hoaxes after thorough security scans.

The emails sent to Ahlcon International School and Banyan Tree referenced “C4 RDX-based IEDs” and demanded the evacuation of all personnel while advising contact with the Central Bureau of Investigation. These messages included intricate references to a “recent issue involving a meth case” and alleged connections to various individuals.

A senior police officer disclosed that St. Stephen’s College received its bomb threat at 7:42 AM, while Ahlcon International School and Banyan Tree received theirs at 5:44 AM. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities suspecting that the emails may have been sent by students.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia confirmed that a comprehensive investigation was conducted by a bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and the college’s security team. After no suspicious items were found, the premises were cleared for resumption of academic activities.

Noida School Suspends Classes Due to Threat

In another incident, Shiv Nadar School in Noida Sector 168 received a bomb threat via email, written in Tamil, leading to the suspension of classes. School officials discovered the email during a routine morning check. ADCP Sumit Shukla stated that police were alerted around 7:45 AM, prompting emergency teams to respond swiftly.

The school management informed parents to keep their children at home while safety protocols were enforced. Students already en route were sent back home as a precaution. The Tamil email primarily discussed ongoing conflicts at Anna University, with a subject line mentioning an ‘RDX bomb blast’.

In these unsettling times, it’s crucial for parents to stay informed and vigilant. For more updates and safety tips, visit Looffers.com for the latest news and promotions.
