JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha Questions Congress on Karnataka Caste Census Report
NEW DELHI: In a recent address in the Rajya Sabha, Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha raised significant concerns regarding the Karnataka caste census report. He questioned the Congress party on the report’s status and why it has yet to be made public. Jha emphasized that Bihar remains the only state to have conducted and disclosed its caste census records.
Demand for Nationwide Caste Census
During his speech on the ‘Motion of Thanks to the President’s address,’ Jha challenged the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on the fate of the Karnataka caste census. He criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as well for questioning the caste census data from Bihar.
Critique of AAP’s Claims
Jha did not hold back in his criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh, pointing out the poor state of infrastructure in Delhi, including dilapidated roads and complaints about dirty water from residents.
Comments on the INDIA Alliance
In a broader political context, Jha praised the central government for focusing on Bihar in the recent budget while criticizing the opposition. He remarked that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had left the INDIA alliance after realizing their hypocrisy, questioning why they still label themselves as such amidst their conflicts.
Support for Makhana Farmers
Jha also commended the government’s initiatives to support Bihar’s makhana farming, which is crucial for five lakh families from the state’s most backward communities. The announcement of the Makhana Board in the budget has raised hopes for improved processing, packaging, and market access for these farmers.
