In a dramatic turn of events, auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana found himself in the thick of an emergency early Thursday morning. While passing near the Satguru Darshan building, he heard desperate cries for help, leading him to transport Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra after a stabbing incident at the actor’s home.
Responding to a Call for Help
Rana recalled the moment vividly: “I was driving my rickshaw when I heard someone shouting, ‘Rickshaw ruko (stop the rickshaw).” A woman and others flagged him down, and in entered a visibly injured Saif, whose white kurta was drenched in blood.
Despite his stab wounds, Saif remained calm, asking, “Kitna time lagega (How much time will it take to reach the hospital)?” Initially, the plan was to head to Holy Family Hospital, but they quickly decided on Lilavati Hospital instead.
A Swift Journey to the Hospital
Rana sped through the streets, reaching the hospital in about ten minutes. Upon arrival, Saif revealed his identity to the hospital staff, refusing a wheelchair and opting for a stretcher instead.
“The journey ended around 3 am. His white kurta had turned red, and despite his injuries, he walked on his own,” said Rana. He chose not to take a fare, emphasizing the importance of helping someone in need.

Doctors have since advised that Saif needs rest, as his injuries, particularly a spine injury, may pose risks of infection.
