Google is currently working on an exciting new AI feature called Daily Listen. Once this feature rolls out for the general public, it will provide users with five-minute audio summaries of stories and topics that pique their interest. Utilizing data from users’ Discover feeds and search histories, Daily Listen curates content that resonates with individual preferences. Currently available as a Search Labs feature, Daily Listen will also offer a detailed AI-generated transcript and captivating cover art to enhance the user experience.
If you’re eager to give it a try, here’s how to access this feature.
At present, Daily Listen is exclusively available in the US for both Android and iOS users. You can find it in the Search Labs section of the Google app by tapping on the triangular beaker icon located in the top-left corner.
How to Use Google’s Daily Listen?
After enabling the feature, it will appear as a ‘Made for you’ Daily Listen card under the Space carousel, right beneath the Google Search bar. Simply tap on the card, and a full-screen audio player will launch.
You can then play, pause, rewind, or mute the audio as per your preference. Furthermore, users can provide feedback by giving the content a thumbs up or down, enhancing the personalization of their listening experience.
It’s worth noting that Google had previously introduced NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews back in September 2024, which transformed documents into 10-minute podcasts hosted by AI. These hosts summarize uploaded content, establish thematic connections, and engage in conversational exchanges, bringing a unique twist to content consumption.
