According to the IMD, a cold wave-like situation is anticipated in isolated areas of Telangana, north Interior Karnataka, and east Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, January 4.

Naresh Kumar, an IMD scientist, has informed that Jammu and Kashmir and surrounding areas are likely to experience light to moderate snowfall due to an active western disturbance affecting the Himalayan region. Heavy snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir on January 4 and 5, with the adjoining plains also likely to witness light to moderate rainfall.

Cold wave conditions are persisting in Jammu and Kashmir, with temperatures dropping below zero in many areas. The frigid weather has even caused the surface of Dal Lake to freeze, creating a picturesque yet chilly landscape.

The latest IMD bulletin indicates that cold wave conditions are likely to continue in parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, with no significant temperature changes expected in Northwest or East India in the coming days.

Delhians woke up to a dense layer of fog today, with temperatures remaining low. Mild rainfall is anticipated on January 6, as the cold wave continues to grip northern states.
